The Woman in Cabin 10

This Agatha Christie-esque story features Keira Knightley as Laura, an ace reporter who decides to take a break from writing about international wars to embark on a high-end voyage alongside an ailing Norwegian shipping heiress and philanthropist, her partner, and other extremely wealthy individuals. But after a mysterious woman falls into the sea during the evening and all passengers claims she was never there, Laura's investigative instincts take over. Streaming currently, on Netflix

Presence

Steven Soderbergh tests his creative boundaries through this innovative ghostly tale filmed completely through the eyes of a ghost. When a household featuring mother Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe settles into their recent residence, the filming device – representing the ghost – shadows their actions. Chloe seems conscious of the supernatural presence, and it looks like protective of her. However, the motive remains? The premise is enjoyable that avoids overstaying, including a revelation that could catch you off guard. This Saturday, multiple showings, Sky Cinema Premiere

The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

The iconic actor embraces his unique fame in this meta comedy caper. He portrays a self-obsessed film star playing himself who agrees to a $1m payday to attend a celebration on the Spanish island for the rich Javi Gutierrez. Contacted by the intelligence agency to investigate the alleged criminal, Cage's unique performing skills comes in handy. October 11th, evening, Channel 4

The Black Phone

Derrickson's claustrophobic thriller stands strong without requiring a sequel. Taking place in 1978 Denver, several child abductions has made the local kids anxious. Once Finney is kidnapped by “the Grabber” and held captive in a basement, he fears a terrible outcome. But the disconnected phone in the room repeatedly calls, with ghostly voices providing assistance, as the prescient dreams of Gwen, his sister may be his salvation. A solid creepfest. This Saturday, 10.50pm, the Film4 channel

The Eyes of Tammy Faye

In the struggle between God and Mammon, it's a knockout win for greed in this director's delightfully tacky true story of the disgraced TV preacher and her criminal husband. Garfield acts as the corrupt Bakker, who proclaims at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. The couple set about capitalizing on the people's Christian beliefs. It's a riot of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and bad faith, however Chastain succeeds to depict the real-life figure with compassion. Next Tuesday, late night, on Film4

This Espionage Thriller

This week's another release from Steven Soderbergh delivers a spy mystery as precise as the polo necks worn by Fassbender's intelligence officer. He receives a mission with uncovering a traitor within their ranks from five suspects – one of whom is his spouse. Each performer are masters of deadpan cool, leading to a delightful mental battle of fact versus fiction unfolds. Additional actors participate the clever spy entertainment. This Friday, various showings, Sky Cinema Premiere
